Workshops
Duration: 1 Session
Time: 120 Minutes
Price: $65

Our workshops range from beginner-friendly wheel throwing sessions to in-depth explorations of traditional forms, with so much more between. Come make your own ceramic whistle, or create your alter ego in the form of a clay mask. Or, come to unlock a deeper self with “Clay For Creatives.”

Held multiple times a week, these workshops are great touch-points for what we do at Mac Clay. We’ll meet you where you are, and there’s a lot more hidden below the surface.
FREE EVENT!

For the first four Saturdays in August (and the first Sunday) we’re holding a Community Tile Painting Workshop -- come help us decorate our space! The doors will be open to anyone from 1-5PM each of those days. Our tile project is a celebration of opening our doors for the very first time.

Classes
Duration: 6 weeks
Time: 180 Minutes
Price: $375

Guided explorations through wheel-throwing and hand-building, taught by an experienced teacher in our community each of whom brings their unique flair to the classroom. We welcome potters of all levels — and yes, there is already great talent in Yamhill County! Our studio is set up to teach technique and unlock creative channels, while deepening for historical contexts and forms. The classes are six weeks long and meet once a week for three hours. Two of those hours are guided by the teacher, with demos and hands on instruction, and the last hour is for practice and self-guided work. During your six week class, you can also book independant studio time.

Coming This Summer To McMinnville

Mac Clay is the first ceramic studio solely focused on classes, workshops and events in McMinnville. We believe in strengthening community by stoking conversations and deepening understanding of ceramic practice — whether wheel throwing technique, pinch pots, Instagram trends or pre-historic forms. Wherever you are on your ceramic journey, we will meet you at the place where curiosity, passion and technique find form.
Think of Mac Clay as a town square for all things ceramic. Whether you’re taking a multiweek class at our Downtown location, attending a weekend masterclass, or reserving space in the studio for the day, we exist to help you access the magic of clay creation. Our mission is to serve both the beginner and advanced studio potter in a safe, vibrant environment. But there’s more: we don’t only make beautiful things; we explore new dimensions of ourselves and how we relate to each other. Mac Clay is honored to enter a conversation with the Yamhill County area. So follow along as we kick off a series of events that introduce ourselves while recentering a craft that developed lock-step with humanity itself.
